R&D Library Specialist

The Programme

The R&D Library Specialist / Scientist III role will provide library and document management services to support Research & Development (R&D) and other functions across the RAI enterprise. This role will work under the supervision of the R&D Library Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Serves as a Library Specialist including ordering, receiving and processing of books and journal articles into the Records Management system, administering Copyright retention policy, identifying process improvements and leading change as appropriate
  • Works with clients to develop literature search strategies and performs literature searches upon request
  • Maintains and develops physical library collection
  • Supports the company document management process as a Document Coordinator for Smart Solve, including reviewing and routing documents, resolving issues, and performing periodic review
  • Provides information and training to patrons for library searches
  • Maintains library-related systems permissions per company procedures and guidelines
  • Collaborates with R&D Library Manager and other library staff on projects/assignments

Required Skills and Abilities

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required and 1 year relevant experience or B.A./B.S. in Library Science and/or Information Science or B. A./B. S. in Science or Business
  • Experience in document/records management preferred
  • Strong project management & organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team, cross functionally and independently
  • Demonstration of interpersonal skills of dependability, reliability and credibility
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and web-based applications
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience with SharePoint, OpenText, SmartSolve and Endnote
  • Self-motivated, flexible and embraces change
  • Ability to learn systems quickly
