Content Developer Intern

The Programme

The Tech Blender Media team is a communications team within Quicken Loans Technology. The Content Developer Intern helps with our quarterly magazine and daily blog, which cover stories from our Technology team. This intern assists with reports, writes and edits content for these platforms, and works with Technology team contributors who help create content. From day one with the Quicken Loans Family of Companies, you’ll engage in meaningful work. Not only will you be a key part in reshaping the fintech industry, but you’ll also have opportunities to impact the communities in which we work and play. As part of a team, you will build connections, pitch ideas and take on challenging projects that will help you grow both personally and professionally.

What you will Do

  • Craft quality content for the Tech Blender magazine and blog by the given deadline
  • Interview sources and disseminate interview transcriptions, which at times may contain high-level technical content, into accessible stories for a wide audience
  • Build relationships throughout the Technology team to source story ideas
  • Work with the Tech Blender team to create a holistic content vision, capturing stories through the combination of written copy and visuals

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Degree or work completed toward a degree in journalism, communications or a similar field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience with a journalistic style of writing and reporting (must be able to provide writing samples)
  • Ability and availability to work 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday
  • Enterprising spirit and the ability to work independently and to self-motivate
  • Passion for written communication and storytelling
  • Collaborative mindset and a desire to grow through actively listening to feedback
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines on multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment
  • Superb attention to detail
  • Knowledge of AP style and experience editing in AP style
  • Working knowledge of Adobe software, including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Experience in photography and/or graphic design
  • Knowledge of and passion for technology
