The HKEX Management Trainee Programme has the goal of nurturing bright and young talent and grooming them into future leaders. The Programme is an intensive development programme combining interactive learning, personal and group coaching and senior management exposure with on-the-job training. As a result, Trainees develop a spectrum of experience, an open mind and a broad understanding of different aspects of HKEX's business and management.
Management Trainees will go through intensive training with the goal of nurturing their leadership skills, teamwork abilities, professional knowledge and soft skills. Highlights of the training include leadership challenges, skills for Management Trainees, presentations, and many more. Ongoing training will continue to be offered over the 28 month programme.
Management Trainees will undergo in their first month of core training covering departmental familiarization of all divisions within HKEX, soft skills and technical training. There will be ongoing training during the course of the programme including financial skills, personal effectiveness and HKEX business series.
During the programme, Management Trainees will work in five different departments from different divisions that will provide hands-on experience for Management Trainees to understand HKEX's business and operations. It will also create opportunities for Management Trainees to better understand their strengths, career aspirations and build internal networks through exposure during the department attachments.
Strong Support - Management Trainee Managers and staff from each division will provide guidance and coaching to Management Trainees to facilitate their learning.
Regular Training – Management Trainees will be provided with additional training throughout the Programme to equip them with the skills required for their daily work and personal development.
Social Activities – Management Trainees will interact regularly with senior management and other staff in social activities outside of work.
Upon completion of the 28-month Programme, Management Trainees will then be able to pick a department based on their preferences and strengths, subject to their performance and HKEX's business needs.
The ultimate end-goal of the Programme is to develop Management Trainees into our senior management with the important responsibility to run one of our core businesses in the future.
