At FDM we understand the value of early education, equipping students with the skills to enjoy and engage with STEM field at an early age. We are proud to work with schools in Hong Kong to cultivate the technologists of tomorrow, supporting our purpose of creating and inspiring exciting careers that shape our digital future.
Some of our work has included:
- Partnership with Teach4HK to provide mentorship to university students who will teach in underprivileged schools in Hong Kong.
- Coding workshops to give children an insight into a career in tech using innovative programmes such as Sonic Pi.
- Partnership with South Island School to provide an ‘Introduction to Python’ workshop for students over the course of eight weeks. The final project was to command a robot using Python.
“Coding is fast becoming an essential prerequisite of the modern-day learner. At South Island School, there has been a significant push in the last eighteen months led by both staff and students, to provide more opportunities for our students to discover the world of coding and the IT industry as a whole. FDM has become a vital partner in addressing this need.”
Iain Williams, Digital Literacy Coordinator at South Island School
